Using my Let’s Write, Read, Analyze, Process (W.R.A.P.) curriculum, I will offer insight and practical activities for teachers to use poetry in their classrooms to stimulate student learning.

Inspired by Alicia Piller’s exhibition, Unearthed: Time Keeping Mound City, I will discuss how through this region's past civilizations and powerful social political events, how we form our own sense of place and identity.

The Open Door series presents work from new and emerging poets and highlights writing instruction and poetic partnerships. Each event features readings by two Midwest-based writers and two of their current or recent students or writing partners.
